QuickBooks Online for Windows and Mac.
This is Intuit’s desktop companion for QuickBooks Online — not the older QuickBooks Desktop product. Sign in with the same Intuit ID you use in the browser.
Windows
Install the QuickBooks Online desktop app and sign in. Your company file stays in QBO; the app is a window onto it, not a second set of books.

Apple silicon (M-series) and Intel Macs have separate installers. Apple menu → About This Mac tells you which chip you have.
After install, sign in with your Intuit account. Client documents with sensitive data still go through the ShareFile portal — not email, and not as a QBO attachment. Intuit’s own install notes are on the QuickBooks Online desktop app page.
